Our Research Team

Dr Katherine Rainsbury
Principal Investigator
Dr Rainsbury is a GP Partner and is responsible for PI oversight & leadership of the Research Team. She has won awards for her role in research and has many years experience in clinical trials, including phase II, III & IV and has a wealth of clinical experience alongside her role as an NHS GP. She has led multiple trials, including Phase III trials, across a range of clinical specialties. She is also the Safeguarding and Finance Lead.

Dr Alan Holman
Co Investigator
Dr Holman Is a GP Partner and sub-Investigator on the clinical trials. He has previous experience as an engineer. He was PCN Clinical Lead and works closely with other practices locally.

Sam Perkins
Diabetic & Chronic Disease Specialist Nurse
Sam is an experienced Specialist Practice Nurse and leads our Diabetic and Chronic Disease team. She works closely with the Endocrine team at The University Hospital, to ensure optimal treatment and support for our diabetic patients.

Rebecca Seabrook
Research Nurse & Principal Investigator Associate
Rebecca is a Research Nurse at the surgery, and also works as a Practice nurse. She has many years experience in clinical trials including phase II, III IV and relishes being part of the research team. Rebecca is a newly trained PI Associate, and celebrated winning the Primary Care Star award 2023. Rebecca also has a close relationship with NIHR for training and has a keen interest in commercial research.

Emma Roberts
Research Co-ordinator
Emma has several years experience working alongside the research team and assisting with all administration duties, arranging site visits and meetings, and managing the maintenance of hard copy and electronic site files. She has also worked very closely with Rebecca our research nurse to aid her PI training.
